GENERAL
AGREEMENT COUNSELLING
1. During the 1st SESSION your
counsellor will discuss the following with you, and where possible will answer
your questions:

Confidentiality
·
What is counselling
·
What you might expect
from counselling
·
The type of counselling
being offered
·
What brings you to
counselling
·
The fee and methods of
payment
By the end of the first session your and your
counsellor will agree whether or not to continue beyond this first session.
2. CONFIDENTIALITY
is strictly adhered to as part of this agreement.
Exceptions to this are where the law might be broken
or where you might be planning to harm yourself and/or someone else.
Your counsellor will only break confidentiality after
exploring all options with you, if it is in your best interests, or if
instructed to do so by law.
If you have any DISPUTE or GRIEVANCE with your counsellor it is recommended that you try to resolve it face to face. Where this is not possible you may contact his counselling supervisors in order to try to resolve the issue
If you are unable to resolve disputes through those avenues you may contact your
Counsellors professional body, the British Association for Counselling and
Psychotherapy, Professional Conduct Committee:

3. You may ask to see any NOTES that your
counsellor keeps at any time.
4. You are requested to give at least 48 hours notice of
any CANCELLATION of an appointment. The full fee will be charged
if less than 24 hours notice is given except in unforeseen circumstances or
illness.
5. You are requested to give prior notice to the ENDING
of the agreement.
