GENERAL AGREEMENT SUPERVISION

During the first session your supervisor will discuss the following with you and where possible will answer your questions:

Confidentiality

The type of supervision being offered

What you need from your supervisor

What you want from supervision

What your supervisor might expect from you

The fee and methods of payment

Arrangements for emergency/non-face to face contact

At the end of the first session you will both agree whether or not to continue beyond this first session.

CONFIDENTIALITY is strictly adhered to as part of this agreement, by both parties.

Exceptions to this are where you request a report; where either of you wish

to use any content from supervision for other purposes such as training,

ongoing professional development, research, publication or case presentation.

If concerns arise regarding competence your supervisor will try to resolve

them with you directly within the supervision process. However if client safety

is at risk, your supervisor will need to breach confidentiality. This process for

this will be discussed and agreed with you.

If you have any DISPUTE or GRIEVANCE with your supervisor it is recommended that you try to resolve it face to face. Where this is not possible you may contact his supervisors in order to try to resolve the issue.

If you are unable to resolve disputes through those avenues you may contact your

supervisors professional body, the British Association for Counselling and

      Psychotherapy Professional Conduct Committee:
